A General Manager (GM) of RajComp, a fully owned company of Rajasthan government is in news. For all wrong reasons.
Rajya Sabha MP and senior BJP leader Kirodi Lal Meena is after his life. Meena has been alleging serious corruption charges against him and accuses him to be the mastermind of DoIT scam.
DoIT officials are under radar of ED ever since Rajasthan Police had found Rs 2.30 crore cash and one kg gold in official almirah of the department's basement. ED had arrested joint director Ved Prakash Yadav, who is still in ED's custody.
Even as the Directorate of Enforcement (ED), which is said to have conducted searches of lockers located in basement of Ganpati plaza at the behest of Meena, could find nothing from GM's locker, Meena is still aggressive on GM.
Meena had claimed that there are 100 suspicious lockers which are stacked with Rs 100 crore cash and 50 Kg gold. He said that the GM has five lockers which contain unaccounted money accumulated from the scam. Later it was found that the GM has only one locker in his name that doesn't contain anything suspicious.
Even then Meena alleged that the GM had shifted all the cash and gold to three lockers issued under fake names to evade ED action.
“The GM is thorough corrupt. He is a key person in Rs 5,000 crore scam in Department of Information Technology and Communication (DoIT &C). He has links with senior officers and enjoy their patronage. The heat of this scam will go to senior officials and politicians,” Meena said.
The GM has denied allegations and said that there is nothing suspicious in the locker and he has not operated it since years.
Controversies are not new to this said GM. He had landed in trouble earlier also when he was accused of eloping with a married woman, who is a resident of Delhi.
The husband of that women had registered a police complaint last year against the GM in New Delhi. The complainant had also registered complaint with chief minister office and department of personnel about keeping his wife illegally in ‘captivity'.
The GM is said to be fond of cars and motorcycles and possess all hiend models such as BMW, Chevrolet Cruze, Honda Goldwing, Mahindra Thar, Porche Cayenne S, Honda NX 650.
“The GM is close to many senior IAS officers and he misuses his position. His behaviour with staff is also not amicable. He often uses abusive words while addressing his juniors,” said an employee of RajComp.
