Amit reports of a rift in BJP alliance with JJP, Haryana chief minister, Manohar Lal Khattar and his cabinet have tendered their resignation to governor Bandaru Dattatreya.
Though the reasons of disagreement between BJP and JJP is not known, sources say that the alliance has been broken over the issue of seat sharing. The BJP wanted to contest on all the seats while JJP wanted at least two Lok Sabha seats.
According to sources, JJP president Dushyant Chautala had a discussion with BJP president JP Nadda on this issues.
After the development, there are chances that JJP may also split split. Sources say that five MLAs of JJP are in touch with BJP.
BJP to remain in power
Even after this split there is no threat to BJP government. The BJP has 41 MLAs in the 90-member House while JJP has 10. For majority, BJP needs five more seats. The party enjoys support of 6 independent MLAs and Gopal Kanda of Haryana Lokhit Party.
The BJP is soon going to claim for the formation new government in Haryana. Union minister Arjun Munda and BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh have been appointed as observers for Haryana. The new chief minister will be declared after the observers hold talks with MLA.
Manohar Lal Khattar likely to continue as CM
If BJP MLAs choose Manohar Lal Khattar as their leader, Khattar will swear in as chief minister for the third time. There are people in the party who say that Manohar Lal Khattar May be asked to contest Lok Sabha election this time. He may be replaced by a new face .
According to reports BJP MP from Haryana's Kurukshetra constituency, Nayab Singh Saini or Karnal MP Sanjay Bhatia are the front runner to replace Khattar as the chief minister. Saini, who comes from OBC community, was recently made state chief to woo OBC voters ahead of Lok Sabha elections.
However, sources in CMO say that Manohar Lal Khattar will remain chief minister. His cabinet may find new faces in accordance with the upcoming elections.
