Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya quits Congress, joins BJP

Senior tribal leader and CWC member Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya quits Congress and joined BJP citing BJP as only party meant for development

Tribal leader and Congress Working (CWC) member Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya joined the Bharatiya Janata Party () giving a big jolt to Congress. After joining, Malviya who is MLA from Bagidora, submitted his resignation. 

Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya who was to join BJP in in the presence of senior national leaders, finally joined the saffron party in Jaipur.  party president CP Joshi, state incharge Arun Singh, former MLAs Arun Chaturvedi and Rajendra Rathore were present at his joining.

He said that there is no alternative to BJP as far as developing men this concerned. He lauded prime minister Narendra Modi for his visionary work and said that a Modi has brought laurels for the country and is one of the most popular leaders in the world.

Malviya said that her heart was completely broken when Congress did not allow him to attend the Pran pratishtha programme at Ayodhya. 

“I had decided then and there that I will leave Congress and join BJP,” he said. 

Malviya said that he started his career in student days with the ABVP, later joined Congress. 

“I joined Vishwa Hindu Parishad. Later I became president and vice president under the banner of ABVP,” he said.

In the nine assembly segments in Banswara and Dungarpur, BJP won only two seats while the Congress won five and the Bharatiya Tribal Party won two.

“Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya would have never got ticket form Congress”

Reacting to the exit of Malviya, Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasara said that there will be no impact of Malviya's exit from the party.

“In fact party will strengthen with his exit. He was indulged in anti party activities. He knew that he will not get ticket from Congress again. So he decided to move to BJP,” Dotasara said.  

Dotasara said that Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya has lost his base and he will never become MLA or MP in life.

“Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya is making excuses. Congress has never objected to Ram Mandir. Malviya is just making excuses,” he said.
