Mahaveer Kharadi elected as president of RAS Association

In an election of RAS Association held after 4 years, Mahaveer Kharadi became the president of the association. He is a 1997 batch RAS officer currently serving as principal of All Purpose Revenue Training School, Tonk.

Mahaveer Kharadi , a 1998 batch officer has been elected as president of RAS Association in an election which is held after four years. Kharadi is currently serving as principal of All Purpose Revenue Training School (APRT), – a training institute for grooming revenue officers.

Mahaveer Kharadi got 362 votes while Ashok Sharma clinched 286 votes and Rakesh Sharma garnered 256 votes.

After winning the election, Kharadi said that his priority would be to support RAS officers working in the field and strengthen the officen of sub divisional magistrate ().

“We will also request central government to review the cadre and increase post of promotee RAS so that our fellow officers get better chance to be in IAS cadre,” Kharadi said.

He said that he will ask the state government also to bring out riderless policy of so that vacant posts can be filled without any problem.

According to the electoral body of association, 903 officers voted out of the total 928 registered officers. 

According to the Association, three officers filed nomination for the post of president – Mahaveer Kharadi, Ashok Sharma and Rakesh Sharma.

The association formed electoral panel of three officers – Kesar Lal Meena, Dinesh Sharma and Neelima Takshak, who was as the election officer. 

The online voting took place between 12.15 pm and 4.15 pm.

“This is for the first time facility of online voting was available. RAS officers from every district participated in the poll,” said Pankaj Ojha, a senior RAS officer.

Election of RAS Association held after four years

The need for election arose after four years. Earlier, Pawan Arora was elected unopposed even after getting promoted to IAS. Later Shaheen Ali and Gaurav Bajad too were elected unopposed.

What next?

Now as per the tradition of RAS Association, Kharadi will choose office bearers of his choice. The posts that matter are senior vice president, general secretary and treasurer.
