Lalu Yadav’s son Tej Pratap committed domestic violence against Aishwarya Rai, finds court

A family in has asked RJD Supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav's elder son Tej Pratap Yadav to provide her wife Aishwarya Rai the equivalent level of accommodation as her mother Rabri has within one month.

Hearing the divorce petition, the principal judge of Patna court held that Tej Pratap Yadav committed domestic violence against his wife Aishwarya Rai and issued a protection order for her.

RJD Supremo Lalu Yadav, of late has been in action busy creating a grand alliance of opposition against BJP for the next general elections scheduled in 2024.

The court has directed Tej Pratap not to resort to any kind of domestic violence against her wife. The next hearing is on October 31. The court will look into it whether its orders have been complied with or not.

The court also directed Tej Pratap to bear all the expenses electricity, water supply and other amenities which she uses to avail as the shared household in her matrimonial house 10, Circular Road – the house of Rabri Devi.

All efforts failed to save marriage

Tej Pratap and Aishwarya Rai got married with much fanfare on May 12, 2018. But on 175th day into marriage, Tej Pratap approached family court seeking divorce. The court and the family members tried to broker peace between them but could not succeed.

Allegations levelled against Tej Pratap

Aishwarya has alleged that Tej Pratap has been harassing and torturing her mentally, physically and economically since the beginning of their marriage. Aishwarya has also accused his mother Rabri Devi and sister and Rajya Sabha member Bharti of beating up.

Court returned Rs 10 lakh to Tej Pratap

Earlier the court had ordered Tej Pratap to give Rs 22,000 per month as maintenance apart from Rs 2 lakh. Tej Pratap had given Aishwarya Rs 10 lakh but the amount was returned to Tej Pratap after Aishwarya said in the court that she had not demanded any money.
