Krishna Kunal made education secretary, 7 IAS transferred

Reshuffling of IAS continues as Krishna Kunal has been made education secretary in the transfer list of seven IAS officers. 

Krishna Kunal, who was serving as secretary, women and child and panchayatiraj (women and child development), has been transferred as secretary school education. He replaced Naveen Jain, who has been transferred as secretary planning, planning (manpower and gazetteers), statistics. Transfer of Naveen Jain was unexpected as board examinations are underway. People are wondering what triggered to the transfer of education secretary amid board exams.

This is the third time Kunal Kunal has been transferred in the BJP government in two months. He was put on APO since September 2023. Soon after BJP government came in power, he was posted as secretary minority affairs and waqf department. Later in a week's time, he was again transferred to secretary women and child development. Now he has been again transferred to education department.

Bhawani Singh Detha, who was serving as principal secretary planning, planning (manpower and gazetteers), statistics with additional charge of principal secretary youth affairs a , has been relieved from his main charge. He will now be full fledgedly taking care of youth affairs and sports.

V Saravana Kumar, who is serving as secretary science and technology has been made secretary as well as commissioner of the department. 

Mohan Lal Yadav, who was , has replaced Krishna Kunal as secretary women and child development. Ghanendra Bhan Chaturvedi, who was serving as settlement commissioner, ex-officio director consolidation, has replaced Mohan Lal Yadav. Narendra Gupta, who is serving as special secretary revenue has been given additional charge of settlement commissioner. 

Mahendra Soni, who was serving as additional director general HCM RIPA, has been transferred as member, revenue board. 

In this list, Krishna Kunal and V Saravana Kumar are the gainers while Naveen Jain, who was hitting headlines for innovations and initiatives in education department, has been relegated to a comparatively insignificant posting. His campaign on Bad Touch Good Touch to sensitise students about how to prevent molestation and sexual abuse and Surya Namaskar in government schools clocked world record.

Krishna Kunal, who was kept on sidelines during government, has been given an opportunity take education to newer heights. His work as Jaipur Collector was remarkable and is known to be a hard taskmaster. His tenure as managing director Rajasthan Skill Development and Livelihood Development Corporation (RSLDC) is also worth mentioning. He took several initiatives and introduced many job-oriented trainings to enable unemployed youth take up entrepreneurship.
