KK Pathak Bihar IAS may go on central deputation

KK Pathak may have to leave his mission of reforming education system in Bihar as he is likely to go on central deputation

KK Pathak, of education in may go for central deputation. The Bihar has given its go ahead to the request of K K Pathak.

If KK Pathak goes, it will end the controversy surrounding him. Ever since Pathak has become additional chief secretary, he is on the mission to reform the rotten education system in the state. he locked horns with then education secretary Dr Chandrasekhar and then faced from staff over strictness in school timing. So much so that not only opposition but ally BJP also demanded removal of Pathak from education department. But chief minister Nitish Kumar defended him in the assembly announcing him as the most honest bureaucrat. Now if Pathak is able to move to , all controversies around him will fade away.

KK Pathak had worked in centre earlier also

Going by the seniority KK Pathak, a 1990 batch officer should have been empaneled for secretary level post. The superannuation of Pathak is due in January 2028 with almost four years of service left.

In his previous assignment at centre he had served at the level of additional secretary as managing director of National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) from November 2019 to September 2021. He was repatriated to home cadre before the expiry of normal tenure.

KK Pathak had also served as joint secretary in home affairs and as deputy secretary in department of personnel and training.

What will happen next?

Once the Bihar government gives NoC then the union government's department of personnel and training (dopt) will give posting as per the vacancy.

The state government has given its no objection to central government. Now central government will give KK Pathak posting as per his empanelment and would inform the state government. KK Pathak then can join union government once the Bihar government relieves him.
