The election results are on the expected lines. But what is not on expected lines is the selection of Rajasthan chief minister. While Madhya Pradesh has reason to repeat Shivraj Singh Chouhan as chief minister but in Rajasthan, the party has come back on Modi's magic with no regional satrap on forefront – not even Vasundhara Raje who has been two time chief minsiter and four time CM face of the party.
This time during the campaign, prime minister Narendra Modi had sent clear message that party was contesting on symbol with no face. That way he ruled out any possibility of projecting Raje as the CM face.
However, after the victory Vasundhara Raje still stands as the strongest candidate for the chief minister. She is the only leader in the party who held 55 election rallies across the state leaving behind her constituency in the hands of public.
If PM Modi feels that there is a little doubt in winning 25 seats in parliamentary election, then he will look up to Vasundhara Raje's leadership.
Apart from Raje, senior BJP leader and master strategist Om Mathur can also be given reins of Rajasthan. He has turned around the fortune of in Chhattisgarh as the state incharge. While every pollster was of the opinion that Congress will repeat in Chhattisgarh, Mathur with his sheer organisational skills turned the table on Congress and cross the tally of 50 bringing complete majority for BJP. The BJP can reward him with the position of chief minister for which he was once a contender.
Then there is slim chances of making Diya Kumari or Baba Balaknath as chief minister. Diya Kumari of late has been given extra privilege from the party. She was given importance stage in presence of prime minister a couple of times. Also she was gifted with an easy seat in this election. Being popular face that too a woman, Diya Kumari fits perfectly in the strategy of party. She can be projected as future of the party.
People are also taking about Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore as chief minister. In BJP, there is no rule. What Modi and central leadership dictate becomes the diktat. So ruling out anyone from being chief minister would not be easy.
