Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot had to cancel his scheduled programme in Sikar on Friday as his helicopter was not allowed to fly from Udaipur.
The Union home ministry did not give air defence clearance due to ongoing G20 summit. In fact the central government has banned movement of any chartered flight or private helicopterswithin 300 kms of national capital.
“Today there was a programme to go to Sangliya Peeth, Sikar, as part of the death anniversary programme of Baba Shri Khinwadas Ji Maharaj, but due to the G-20 meeting, the ministry of home af fairs did not give permission to go to Sikar by helicopter from Udaipur, due to which I am not able to reach Sangliya Peeth,” Gehlot said in a post on X.
For those who are looking at politics in this incident should know that many central BJP leaders too have to cancel their programme in view of G20 summit. These include defence minister Rajnath Singh, minsiter of state for road transport V K Singh and cricketer and member of parliament Gautam Gambhir among others.
These leaders were to address BJP's Parivartan Yatra in Rajasthan.
“Now they will come next week and we will rescheduled their visits. Meanwhile, members of parliament and union ministers from from Rajasthan will pitch in for them,” said a senior BJP leader.
