IPS Vikas Kumar, 2004 batch, who is serving as IG RAC, has been appointed as the nodal officer for enforcement of model code of conduct in Rajasthan. There will be 2,000 flying squad in this task force, which will keep a tight vigil on activities taking place during the election. The entire monitoring will be controlled by police headquarters.
For the first time, police team will be deployed 24X7 on Bharat Mala and Delhi-Mumbai Express Highway. Apart from that police teams will also be deployed on each and every entry point of express highways.
The newly appointed nodal officer Vikas Kumar told The BuckStopper that the police will work together with five different departments including income tax, excise, transport and cst-gst to control and monitor any evasive activity.
“Police will seize narcotics, liquor, arms and cash during the elections so that code of conduct can be enforced in letter and spirit. We have identified sensitive areas where our flying squads will be alert round the clock,” he said.
Her said that police has made 250 check posts inside the district and on all the borders of the districts. It has created as many number of check points also to keep a tight vigil on suspicious people and vehicles entering the districts.
“We have developed an app where seizures and arrests would be uploaded daily. We will prevent use of moneypower and would act severely upon any kind of smuggling,” Kumar said.
