International Conclave on Good Governance 2024 held at London

A three-day Conclave on Good Governance was held in London from 11th to 13th September 2024, where the next generation of young leaders contributed to shaping global policies on women's empowerment, sustainability, and enhanced governance between India and the UK. 

This program empowers youth at the forefront of global leadership, providing opportunities to engage in discussions, learn from established leaders, and shape India-UK relations. Young leaders gained valuable experience in diplomacy, sustainability, and cross-border collaboration, preparing them to be the next generation of changemakers and influencers.

The conclave was organised by Nachiket Joshi, founder of the World Leadership Forum, stood as a beacon of global collaboration as a part of the International Conclave which turned out to be a resounding success. Executed seamlessly by Khushboo Shah, this year's conclave focused on the theme of “Viksit Bharat 2047”, celebrating India's journey towards its centenary of independence. 

The Conclave commenced at London City Hall on 11th September, led by Assembly Member Krupesh Hirani from Brent and Harrow. The theme, “Women's Empowerment, Climate Change, and Sustainable Employment,” set the tone for the event, highlighting key solutions to modern global challenges.

The Women of Impact Award was the event's crown jewel, honoring women trailblazers from diverse sectors for their contributions to societal progress.

Day two unfolded with a high-profile session on “Good Governance” at the House of Commons, hosted by Bob Blackman MP, CBE, and Harrow Deputy Anjana Patel. Esteemed dignitaries, including Seema Malhotra MP, Parliamentary Under- of State for Migration and Citizenship, and several influential MPs such as Shivani Raja, Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi, Deirdre Costigan, and Andy Slaughter, delivered inspiring speeches, emphasizing the enduring ties between the UK and India.

The session also celebrated the contributions of an Indian delegation comprising public servants, journalists, and politicians. A special honour was bestowed upon Virendra Sharma, former MP from Ealing Southall, for his 50 years of exemplary public service.

The final day on 13th September saw a grand Gala Lunch at the House of Lords, hosted by Lord German OBE. The session focused on India's contribution to the global economy, followed by a children's performance on sustainability, and culminated in an evening of cultural celebration and the Community Impact Awards at Brent Civic Centre, recognising individuals who have driven societal change. Vijay Goel, founding member of the India-European Business Forum addressed the committee and stressed on the importance of India-UK in shaping the future.

The International Conclave 2024, not only celebrated global diplomacy and governance but also provided a unique platform for young leaders from diverse fields to participate in the World Leadership Forum.

Rajeshwari Kashyap, a journalist by profession who hosted the first day of the conclave said, “Young leaders, its time for your voices to be heard. Your active participation in shaping global policies is crucial. We must engage in meaningful  dialogues and create a better future together.

Vatsal Parikh, a qualified Indian lawyer, reflected on his experience, saying, “As a young leader, the International Conclave 2024 provided me with valuable insights into the legal and regulatory frameworks that foster global collaboration.

The discussions on sustainable governance and the evolving ties between India and the UK deepened my understanding of the critical role lawyers play in societal change, cross-border cooperation, and shaping policies for sustainable societal impact.”

Yanyun Ha, a brand strategist, commented on the inspirational atmosphere, saying, “Seeing accomplished Indian entrepreneurs and leaders receive awards with genuine joy was a powerful reminder of the value of hard work. The prestigious setting of the House of Lords added to the significance, and as someone building a brand in London, it was both motivating and insightful.”

Aagya Gupta, International Relations consultant, stated, “The dynamic discussions on good governance and international development, fostering India-UK relations at the UK Parliament, brought global diplomacy and partnership for mutual growth to life. It enhanced my understanding of international affairs and global policymaking in a truly impactful way at the International Conclave 2024.

Khachatur Eritsian, a scholar of International Conflicts, shared his profound experience, saying, “I was privileged to learn from Hon'ble Virendra Sharma, Cllr Sunil Chopra, Lord German OBE, and Ms. Shivani Raja, MP about the nuances of and Indian diplomacy, as well as the art of diplomatic communication and conduct at high-level events. These lessons are invaluable to my aspirations of contributing meaningfully to international relations in the future.

Shivani Bathan, a journalist, echoed similar sentiments, sharing, “It gave me a firsthand look at India-UK relations and global governance in action. Interacting with diverse speakers and delegates from India broadened my understanding of diplomacy and international collaboration.”

Kumar Vishesh, reflecting on his professional development, added, “Becoming part of the International Conclave 2024 provided invaluable insights into the evolving landscape of digital marketing, especially in leveraging data-driven strategies for global outreach.

The opportunity to engage with industry leaders sharpened my approach to innovation and client engagement.
