Indore's employee's provident fund (EPFO) commissioner Mukesh Rawat has been named in murder of a sarpanch Vikram Singh. Rawat is at large and Police has announced a prize money of Rs 5,000 for his arrest. He is already on bail from Supreme Court in another murder case where he has been named in killing of Vikram Singh's cousin two years back. Vikram was eye witness to this murder.
According to police, six people attacked sarpanch Singh when he was going to meet an advocate and fired 11 bullets including seven on his head. Vikram succumbed to his injury. Police said that family rivalry is reason behind the murder.
The CCTV footage showed that two people came on a motorcycle and started firing when Vikram was taking out documents from backseat of his car. Just then three more people came firing at Vikram and all five left the spot within 63 seconds.
Police have identified four out of six people said to be involved i the murder. The accused includes PF commissioner Mukesh Rawat, Pushpendra Rawat. Bunti Rawat and Atendra Rawat. Police is trying to identify the other two assailants.
