Former national women commission chairperson Mamta Sharma, BJP leader Vikas Chaudhary from Kishangarh and Dholpur MLA Shobha Rani Kushwaha, who was terminated from BJP, have joined Congress.
By inducting them in party and giving them ticket, Congress runs a risk of creating rebel candidates on these seats.
Mamta Sharma earlier was in Congress. She had contested two assembly elections on Congress ticket in 1998 and 2003 and had been MLA twice from Bundi. She was also chairperson of national women commission from 2011-2014.
In 2018, Mamta Sharma left Congress after she was denied ticket and joined BJP to contest assembly election from Pipalda where she lost the election.
It is then a homecoming for Mamta Sharma who has come back to Congress after spending five years with BJP.
As given ticket to Ashok Dogra from Bundi. Mamta Sharma was also aspiring for that. Now she is expecting to contest election from Bundi on Congress ticket.
Vikas Chaudhary, a turncoat from BJP was aspiring ticket from Kishangarh, where he had lost the election last time contesting from BJP. This time BJP denied him the ticket and gave it to sitting MP from Ajmer Bhagirath Chaudhary.
Supporters of Vikas Chaudhary protested against party's decision. Now hoping to get ticket from Congress, Chaudhary has joined the party.
Shobha Rani Kushwaha, sitting MLA from Dholpur on BJP ticket had ‘ditched' BJP much earlier during Rajya Sabha elections when she voted in favour of Congress candidate.
BJP had terminated Kushwaha for going against the party line. Now she has joined Congress and is likely to contest from Dholpur on Congress ticket.
