Vijay Pal Singh, who is serving as commissioner of tourism, has been given additional charge of commissioner, department of information and public relations (DIPR) till December 6, 2024. He took charge today.
Sunil Sharma, commissioner DIPR is on 19 days leave and has sought permission from state government to leave the headquarters due to some personal reasons.
Vijay Pal Singh is a 2008 batch IAS officer promoted from state civil services. Sunil Sharma is a 2013 batch IAS officer, also promoted from state civil services.
Singh, a native of Bharatpur, had served as commissioner nagar nigam Jaipur, additional commissioner, bureau of investment promotion and managing director RTDC among other important positions.

The additional charge for Vijay Pal Singh assumes great importance in view of Rising Rajasthan Global Summit to be held from 9-11 December.
Vijay Pal Singh would have to deal with the responsibility of publicity and information dissemination of this international level summit where business and government delegates from 26 countries would participate.
“Vijay Pal Singh is a diligent officer. He is creative and has a great sense of commitment. The state government has given the charge of DIPR to a deserving person,” said a batchmate of Vijay Pal Singh.
