Soon after being appointed as Barmer collector Tina Dabi has set out on a campaign to create a New Barmer. For that she has to prepared an action plan involving public participation, setting accountability and responsibility of officials for the comprehensive development and beautification of Barmer, which is set to emerge as a new and improved city.
The focus would be on ensuring urban development, cleanliness, beautification, drainage and traffic management.
“We have made nodal officers for all these pivotal features – vital for a lively beautiful city. Then the overall nodal and incharge of this mission is chief executive officer district council Siddharth Palanichamy S who would monitor and coordinate with other nodal officers. Palanichamy will not only ensure proper implementation of the action plan but also submit a weekly report to me,” said Tina Dabi.
As per the action plan, senior officers of the district administration and municipality including ADM, SDM, UIT secretary, municipality commissioner and other officials will harp on development of parks, road repair, cleanliness drive, drainage, proper traffic management and plantation along roadside for giving a new and fresh look to Barmer, which still looks a sleepy town despite being home to large corporates like Cairn and JSW.
“We are committed for the revamp and reconstruction of Barmer. The New Barmer is an initiative aimed at comprehensive development and ensuring resolution of problems being faced by public in general,” she said.
