IAS Rohit Gupta comes back from leave, rejoins BIP

Rohit Gupta, who had gone on a three months study leave, has come back and rejoined as commissioner and  commissioner of Bureau of Investment Promotion (BIP)-  the nodal agency which organised .

Gupta was granted leave so that he could pursue doctorate (Ph.D) from Princeton University, New Jersey. 

In his absence, first , who was then managing RIICO, held the charge. After his , Shivangi Swarnkar, who is managing director of RIICO, was holding the charge. 

Gupta had been on long leave four times before and had completed Master's degree in Public Policy.

A graduate in electrical engineering, Gupta is considered a bright and result oriented officer.
