Ravi Bhagat, a 2006 batch IAS officer has been appointed as Principal Secretary to the Punjab Chief Minister.
Previously serving as the Special Principal Secretary to the CM, Bhagat's elevation comes as part of the state's administrative reshuffle.
In addition to his new role, he will continue to hold the additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Public Works Department (Buildings & Roads), and Secretary, Punjab Rural Development Board.

According to information, senior IAS VK Singh was posted in this post earlier. He was a 1990 batch IAS officer. But he retired on November 30, 2024 last year. After that the post remained vacant for four months.
Who is Ravi Bhagat?
Ravi Bhagat is 48 years old. Talking about his educational qualification, he has done M Phil in Geo Politics. Apart from that, he has done MA in Regional Development, MA in Public Policy and MSc in Public Policy and Management.
Ravi Bhagat has studied from Jalandhar University in Punjab. He has served in various important positions of DC and government in many districts.
