Mugdha Sinha, a 1999-batch IAS officer of Rajasthan cadre has been appointed as director general tourism in the ministry of tourism. This is an additional secretary rank post. Sinha was empanelled as additional secretary in the month of May this year.
She was working as joint secretary in the ministry of culture October 2022. She has replaced Manish Saxena, a 1996 batch IAS of AGMUT cadre, who has been appointed as additional secretary in department of personnel, public grievances and pensions by temporarily upgrading a vacant post of director in the department.
“Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who is union minister of culture and tourism, also comes from Rajasthan. Sinha will have good working with Shekhawat. She was earlier in the minsitry of culture, which is also with Shekhawat,” said a senior official.
During her service in home cadre, Sinha had been secretary in art, culture and archaeology department. She had also been managing director RIICO, secretary food and civil supply and collector of four districts – SriGanganagar, Jhunjhunu, Hanumangarh and Bundi among other assignments.
