At a time when young and successful splurge fortune on their marriages – two young IAS officers, Kumar Anurag and Ananya Singh, have entered into a low key registered marriage in the registrar office of Katihar district in Bihar. This has set an example for many youngsters who follow them.
Ananya Singh, who is posted as SDM Tehatta, Nadia in West Bengal, has more than 45,000 followers on Instagram while Kumar Anurag is also popular on several social media platforms.
Kumar Anurag is currently posted as deputy development commissioner in Bhagalpur district.
The marriage was registered by additional registrar Ajay Kumar.
After marriage, there are chance a that Kumar Anurag may have to change his cadre from Bihar to West Bengal on the basis of marriage.
Who is Kumar Anurag?
Kumar Anurag, 2018-batch IAS, is a native of Katihar district in Bihar. His success story is no different than the story we have watched on screen in the movie 12th Fail. Anurag initially attended a Hindi medium school until Class 8 and then he transitioned to an English medium school. He failed in Maths pre-board exam in Class 12 but in a coupe of months time he learnt from his mistakes to score over 90% in the final exams.
Kumar Anurag took admission in Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi. There also he failed in several subjects on his way to graduation. But that didn't deter his determination and he appeared for UPSC exam in 2017 securing 677 rank. Not satisfied with his success, he went for second attempt in 2018 and secured 48th rank to enter the coveted service of IAS. He was given home cadre.
Who is Ananya Singh?
A native of Uttar Pradesh, Ananya Singh cleared UPSC in her first attempt at an age of 22. She is 2019-batch IAS officer, who secured 51st rank and was allotted West Bengal cadre .
Ananya Singh has been a bright and meritorious student since beginning. She is a district topper in class 10 as well as 12 board examinations.
After 12th, like Kumar Anurag, Ananya too completed her graduation in Economics Honors from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi. She started preparing for the UPSC exam from the last year of graduation. She used to study for seven to eight hours daily.
Ananya Singh is quite active in her social media platforms and is a youth icon.
