IAS Inderjeet Singh gets Silver Award at National e-Gov conference

Inderjeet Singh, commissioner and special secretary of DoIT&C has been awarded with Silver Award at the National e-Gov Conference at Mumbai

Inderjeet Singh, special secretary and commissioner, department of Information Technology & Communication (DoIT&C) received Silver Award under the category “Government Process Re-Engineering for Digital Transformation (state level initiative) of NAeG 2024 at the 27th National Conference on e-Governance in Mumbai on 03 September 2024. 

Singh, a 2010 batch IAS officer has been working as special secretary and commissioner of DoIT&C since July 2023 immediately after his return from Princeton where he has completed Master's degree in Public Policy.

Inderjeet Singh was awarded for the effective implementation of the state-wide project –  Rajkisan Saathi Phase -II. Deputy minsiter of Maharshtra Devendra Fadnavis handed over trophy to Inderjeet Singh, while V Srinivas, who is a cadre officer, currently on working as secretary department of administrative reforms and public grievances, handed over the certificate and a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh along with Fadnavis and other senior officials.

What is Rajkisan Saathi Phase -II project?

This project is a game changing project aimed at providing digital solutions to the rural Rajasthan. It impactful in empowering fathers with cutting edge digital tools. More than 73 lakh farmers registered in this project while over 10,000 officials are also onboarded to help provide instant online solutions to farmers

The project is a step towards providing ease of doing under which farm related information including agriculture marketing, animal husbandry, dairy and horticulture is available on an online integrated platform. 

This platform also provides an opportunity for electronic selling and buying of organic farm products as more than 2,500 buyers and sellers of organic produce and date palm are onboarded on this platform.

So far more than 1 lakh licenses and certificates have been issued online to manufacturers and dealers of farm related products. 

Apart for that, over 50,000 girls from rural areas have also been benefitted through scholarships on this online integrated platform. 

What is National Conference on e-Governance 

The 27th National Conference on e-Governance (NCeG) is being organised on 3rd and 4th of September, 2024, at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The event is being jointly organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and the Government of Maharashtra.

The two-day conference, themed “Viksit Bharat: Secure and Sustainable e-Service Delivery,” will feature six plenary sessions and six breakout sessions, bringing together key stakeholders and leaders from the government, academia, awardees, and industry to discuss and promote innovative e-governance practices.
