IAS Dinesh Kumar, who is serving as principal secretary revenue and colonisation department, has been given additional charge of chairman revenue board – the pairs which was held by IAS Rajeshwar Singh who retired today after putting in 35 years of service.
Dinesh Kumar is a 1996-batch IAS officer serving in the revenue department since February this year.
Similarly, Debasish Prusty, who is working as secretary finance (budget) gets an additional charge of secretary finance (expenditure) after the retirement of Naresh Kumar Thakral. Prusty is a 2000 batch officer, who had joined the post of secretary finance (budget) after an international assignment where he was posted as deputy chief of mission in Indian Embassy at Brussels. He was on deputation from October 2019 to March 2024.
The government has sensibly distributed the charge of superannuating officers to related officers. Though it is an ad hoc arrangement as both the posts are important and need full time attention. Since Dinesh Kumar is handling revenue portfolio, it will be easier for him to oversee the proceedings of revenue board till it gets a full time chairman.
Similarly, Debasish Prusty, who handles budget in the finance department can very well handle expenditure also till the time the department gets new officer.
