IAS Anshuman Raj alleges bribery attempt in guise of Diwali sweets

Anshuman Raj, a 2020 batch IAS officer alleged that a former member of district council had attempted to bribe him in guise of Diwali sweets

Anshuman Raj, a 2020 batch officer of cadre has alleged that a former member of district council in Sidhi had attempted to bribe him in the guise of Diwali sweets. 

Raj, who is serving as of district council Sidhi, alleged that the former member of district council Akhilesh along with a person had come to his office for extending Diwali greetings. He was holding a packet of sweet and an envelope under the packet. 

Suspecting something fishy, Raj called up police and handed over Kushwaha and his accomplice to the police alleging offer of bribe. 

Kushwaha, however denied having any intention to give bribe to the IAS officer. He said that he (Kushwaha) was the officer for the first time and was offering just packet of sweet. 

“The money in the envelope was for my personal use. I never intended to give it to Anshuman Raj. There was some misunderstanding,” Kushwaha said. 

The police is investigating the matter in the basis of evidences and witnesses present in the office of Anshuman Raj. 

Who is Anshuman Raj?

Anshuman Raj, a native of Buxar, Bihar, is a 2020 batch IAS officer. Before clearing the civil services examination, he was working as marine engineer for a Hong Kong based company.
