Rajasthan chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma felicitated IAS officer Ajitabh Sharma for his exemplary services on the occasion of Civil Services Day. He was awarded with Chief Minister Excellence Award.
Ajitabh Sharma, a 1996-batch IAS officer, is serving as principal secretary industries and chairman RIICO. He has been felicitated for his role in the success of Rising Rajasthan investment summit, which resulted into a record Rs 35 lakh crore MoUs.
Sharma also has a pivotal role in framing of industry friendly policies. The state government rolled out 16 new policies to attract investment Rajasthan. Out of that, Ajitabh Sharma was the main architect in at least 9 policies.
The state government has been able to realise 10% of the pledged investment within three months of the summit.
“Generally in any investment summit the conversion ratio is 15-20%. Rajasthan has achieved 10% in just three months. We expect at least 50% conversion at this pace and intent,” said Amitabh Ray Chowdhury, project consultant with a leading consultancy firm.
