How an Arts graduate became Group GM (Tech) in a govt IT company?

Chhatrapal Singh, the controversial Group GM (Tech) of owned IT company Rajcomp, is from a simple background. His father MP Shekhawat is a practising doctor, who is living a retired life in a village near Hanumangarh. He provides free treatment to fellow villagers and is leading a simple life.

Chhatrapal Singh is an Arts graduate from College and an MBA from RA Poddar College. He doesn't possess any technical degree. Still he climbed up the ladder to become Group General Manager (Technical) in a owned IT company in 27 years of his service.

He started off as an Assistant Manager in RajComp on the basis of his MBA degree.

According to sources, he is a relative of a leader from Shekhawati region. And sources said that Chhatrapal's proximity with that leader helped him in attaining key portfolios in the company.

“It's surprising that an Arts Graduate has been made Group General Manager (Technical). In a government set up, it's not easy to attain such position without any technical background,” said a senior official of RajComp.

There are three Group General Managers in RajComp. Other two have technical qualification like BSc (Engineering) and M.Tech.

“Chhatrapal has always been close to power that be. He enjoyed patronage of higher ups and misused his proximity with senior IAS officers. He would misbehave with his subordinates and abuse them loosely even on public forum just because of his clout,” the official said.
