Japanese auto giant Honda Cars India Limited has reiterated its business commitment and trust in Rajasthan where it has a car production facility in Tapukara.
The facility is spread across 450 acres and has an annual installed production capacity of 180,000 units. It is an integrated manufacturing unit, including all functions of forging, press shop, powertrain shop, weld shop, paint shop, plastic moulding, engine assembly, frame assembly and engine testing facility. The company so far has invested Rs 5,282 crore in Rajasthan.
A delegation of Honda Cars met chief minister Ashok Gehlot to discuss future plans of the company in the state. The delegation included Takuya Tsumura, CEO, Honda Cars, Praveen Paranjpe, Director, Hidenori Ashikawa, Chief Financial Officer, Shinya Miyamoto, Director and Piyush Mittal, Vice President.
Among government officials, Additional Chief Secretary Industries Veenu Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Akhil Arora and RIICO Chairman Kuldeep Ranka were also present.
Honda to scale up investment in Rajasthan
Officials of Honda Cars expressed satisfaction over the industry friendly policies of the State Government and expressed their desire to increase investment and expand production capacity in the state.
Honda officials apprised the chief minister about its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
The company is carrying out various works related to education, health, environment protection and road safety across the state. Various infrastructure development works have been done in Budhibawal and Tapukara government schools of Alwar. Skill development training is being imparted to students in various government schools of the district. To improve employability among youths, Honda Vocational Training Institute has been established which has successfully trained more than 14 thousand youths till now.
