Amit Shah inaugurates DGP-IG conference

Amit Shah inaugurated the three day long DGP/IG conference at Jaipur. Issues related to internal security will be discussed at the conference

Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the 58th Director Generals of Police/Inspector Generals of Police Conference 2024 at Rajasthan International Centre, today.
The three day conference of top cops of the country will deliberate challenges before the police force and how to tackle them to ensure robust interbank security of the country.

The conference will also focus on a range of security-related issues of critical importance including security of borders, cyber-threats, radicalisation, fraudulent issuance of identity documents and threats emerging from Artificial Intelligence.

While inaugurating the conference home minister Amit Shah shared that the country has entered the Amrit Kal and would be rapidly progressing to the path of development.
He said that the over the years the conference has emerged as a ‘Think Tank', facilitating decision-making and formulation of new security strategies.

Amit Shah said that the internal security is very important to realise the 's vision of India becoming a developed by 2047. The policing system has improved a lot over last one decade.

He stressed upon two important – the formulation of New Education Policy and enactment of three new criminal laws replacing the archaic British-era laws.
Shah said that the new laws are targeted at transforming criminals rather than punishing them. The laws are aimed at focsussing on the delivery of justice.

He stressed upon the need for training from SHO to DGP level and upgradation from Thana to PHQ level for successful implementation of new laws.

Shah also impressed upon the requirement for linking of databases and adopting artificial intelligence (AI) driven analytical approach for tackling the emerging security challenges.
The home minister highlighted the at there has been drastic improvement n the security scenario in the country try since 2014. There has been dip in the violence in Jammu and Kashmir, left wing extremism and northeast unrest.
