Ahead of assembly election, the state government has swung into action for transferring officials who would be crucial for conducting elections. The transfer list also consists of officers who were posted at one place since the inception of this government. More than 90% such officers have been adjusted in the same district while few have been transferred to different districts.
Additional SPs are crucial in conducting elections and maintaining law and order in districts. After this transfer list, by end of this month, a jumbo list of IPS officers is also awaited. The list is likely have prominent names including Jaipur Commissioner Anand Srivastava, who has been on this seat since the formation of this government. Srivastava who was in the rank of Inspector General when joined as Commissioner, got promoted as Additional Director General on this post only. Apart from that, the list will also field officers including Superintendent of Police (SP) of various districts who have completed three or more years in the same post. This is mandatory as per the directions of election commission. This will also be applicable to police officers such as range IGs, DIGs, commandants of the State Armed Police, SSPs, SPs, additional SPs, sub-divisional heads, SHOs, inspectors, sub-inspectors, sergeant majors or of equivalent ranks, who are responsible for the security arrangements or deployment of police forces in the district at election time.
