Senior IPS officers of Rajasthan cadre – and Sanjay Kumar Agrawal – have been elevated from additional director general to director general rank.

Both the officers are from 1992-batch. Another officer of 1992-batch Rajesh Nirwan has already been elevated to director general rank a couple of months back.

Hemant Priyadarshy is currently working as additional director general and scrb while Sanjay Kumar Agrawal is serving as additional director general intelligence.

Both the officers will continue to serve in their respective posts till further orders.

Hemant Priyadarshy has been recently transferred from anti corruption bureau to cyber crime. According to sources, his transfer was effected due to some serious lapses during investigation of cases. The government removed Priyadarshy from the post which he has been holding for more than 18 months. His tenure was quite eventful. But lapses in the single patta case in which the ACB gave clean chit to then minister Shan't Dhariwal before the Supreme Court didn't go well with the BJP government. Few more recent lapses in investigation worsened the situation.

Sanjay Kumar Agrawal, who had silent years during the previous Congress government, has been given a coveted assignment of ADG intelligence.

Five DIGs of CBI made Joint Directors

Apart from that, five DIGs in Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) have been appointed as joint directors in the premier investigating agency. All the officers are from 2005 batch. These officers include Veeresh Prabhu, Sharda Raut (both from Maharashtra), Rajiv Ranjan (Sikkim), Sumedha Dwivedi ( ) and Vijayendra Bidari from Tamil Nadu cadre.
