Soon after the appointment of new chief minister Nayab Singh Saini, the chief secretary Sanjeev Kaushal has gone on a long leave. In his absence, additional chief secretary home TVSN Prasad has been given interim charge of chief secretary.
Sanjeev Kaushal, a 1986 batch officer is due to retire in July this year. TVSN Prasad, a1988-batch officer, who is the senior most officer after Kaushal has been given the additional charge of chief secretary.
Prasad, who is looking after home department and reveue will also take care of General Administration, Human Resources, Personnel and Training, Parliamentary Affairs and Vigilance, which Kaushal was looking after. additional chief secretary (Revenue) too.
After Sanjeev Kaushal, Prasad is the senior most IAS officer in Haryana. Generally, the government has been appointing the senior most IAS officer as the Chief Secretary except for a few exceptions. Prasad is scheduled to retire in October this year when the stage assembly elections will be due.
The long leave of Sanjeev Kaushal will affect the fortune of many officers, who are waiting to take up the job. TVSN Prasad, the ACS home has been serving since 2022 and is a close confidante of both BJP government in state and the party in centre. His tenure is till October and elections are likely to take place under his supervision.
Apart from Prasad, few more transfers of senior police officers have taken place on their own.
As per the orders, the Chief Administrator of Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran, T L Satyaprakash, will also look after the responsibility of the managing director of Haryana Minerals Limited, New Delhi
Gurgaon Commissioner R C Bidhan will also look after the responsibility of secretary, Haryana State Commission for Scheduled Castes while ADC Palwal Dr Bramjeet Singh Rangi has been given the assignment of District Municipal Commissioner, Palwal. ADC Nuh Pradeep Singh will also look after the assignment of District Municipal Commissioner, Nuh.
