BJP has been happy hunting grounds for former IAS and IPS officers across the country. In Rajasthan also, many retired bureaucrats have joined the saffron party while some are likely to join soon. Among those who joined on Thursday include former divisional commissioner and IAS officer Hanuman Singh Bhati, former IAS and national of Raigar Mahasabha Bhanwar Lal Nawal, ex-IAS Kailash Chand Verma, retired IPS Mahesh Bhardwaj, former Matram Rinwa, ex-RPS Khemraj Kholia, former chief commissioner of Income Tax Narendra Gaur, former Income Tax commissioner Om Prakash Meena, former district education officer Rajaram Meena, former assistant director Sanskrit Education Bahadur Singh , former chief medical officer Dr Ratiram Yadav and former deputy general manager of Oriental Insurance Dayanand Sakkarwaal.

With these officers belonging to different caste and regions, BJP will have a good chunk of votes under their influence.

“They may well create headache for the party also as they would be vying for ticket in the elections. Managing and mobilising them in the interest of party without giving them any post or ticket would be a difficult task,” said a senior BJP leader.

Apart from them, few months ago many retired IAS and IPs officers have also joined the party. These include former IPS Jaswant Sampatram, whose father Babu Sampatram has been 6 times MLA and in the cabinets of Mohan Lal Sukhadia and Bhairon Singh Shekhawat each. Besides him former IAS Dr Satyapal Singh, former IAS Manoj Sharma and retired chief Income Tax commissioner K R Meghwal also joined the party.
