Nitish resigns and he takes oath again. In this regular phenomenon, Nitish Kumar will be CM for the record 9th time

So, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has resigned to take oath as CM with BJP support for the record 9th time. Officially, Bihar will have NDA government with the fall of Mahagathbandhan government led by Nitish. BJP has assigned duty of Dupty Chief Ministers to Samrat Chaudhary, an OBC and to Vijay Sinha, a Bhumihar in the new formation.

NDA parties have submitted claim to form government to Governor of Bihar. The claim is substentiated with letters of support of 126 MLAs. On his satisfaction, the governor has invited Nitish for sworn in today at 5pm.

It is said to be an advantage BJP led NDA for 2024.This will be Nitish's fourth such switch in the last 10 years and the second switch in this term alone.

In the morning after submitting resignation, Nitish Kumar says relations with has not been good. He told the media persons outside Rajbhawan, “I want to tell you (media persons) that today I've resigned from the government.” “Now this government has come to end,” He said. Kumar further added that “Now I'm going to a new alliance to form the government.” On the reason for his resignation from Mahagathbandhan, Mr. Kumar said “Relations with other side (alliance partner (RJD) and our side too has not been good so I decided to put in my papers.”

After being elected as the Leader of the BJP Legislative Party, state BJP chief Samrat Chaudhary says, “BJP did a historic thing for my life…This is an emotional moment for me to have been elected as the Leader of the Legislative Party to be a part of the government…The mandate that we received in 2020 for the development of Bihar and to end the terror of Lalu Yadav – when the BJP received the proposal from Nitish Kumar to ensure that there is no jungle raj in Bihar and Sanjay Jha came here as his ambassador, we decided to support it…”

BJP president J P Nadda is expected to come to by a chartered flight at 3 pm. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief too is likely to visit Patna along with BJP president J P Nadda in the chartered plane. They may attend the oath taking ceremony of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar along with two deputyh Chief Ministers (from BJP quota ) and few Cabinet Ministers.

Earlier in the day, RJD and Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav has come out with a full-page advertisement highlighting his achievements in mahagathbandhan government, in some vernacular newspapers. The advertisement has been issued by RJD.

RJD ministers have not tendered their resignation yet as party chief has asked them not to resign now.

Two deputies in Nitish Kumar's new government

Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha will be Deputy CMs of Bihar. Nitish Kumar kept insisting on Sushil Modi but BJP High Command disagreed. Unlike 2020 this time both the deputies are strong faces and represent Kushwaha and Bhumihar community.

Congress national president, Mallikarjun Kharge says, ” Bihar Dy CM (Tejashwi Yadav) and Lalu Prasad Yadav had hinted regarding this and today it became true. ‘Aise desh mein bahut saare log hein, aaya ram gaya ram'…”

Responding to the resignation of Kumar, the RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari claimed “People of the state will teach a lesson to both BJP and JD(U) in time to come, we'll take revenge with interest and compound interest from JD(U).”
