A couple of days after a court rejected 's plea to take voice sample of union minister in the alleged government toppling case, Ashok Gehlot trained his gun on Shekhawat and said that Shekhawat, despite being the union minister is avoiding victims of Sanjeevani Credit Cooperative Society scam that siphoned of Rs 953 crore from public. Gehlot alleged that Shekhawat has been accused in this case and he (Shekhawat) has taken Z security from Amit Shah to evade arrest by Special Operation Group (SOG) which is investigating the scam. Gehlot said that SOG is investigating in the matter and has made few arrests. Indicating a major crackdown in the case ahead, Gehlot said that he will ask SOG why they are not able to go ahead in the investigation.

“We have given security to many BJP leaders including Rajendra Rathore. If Shekhawat had any threat, he could have asked us for providing security. We would have certainly given him the cover. But he asked Z security from Amit Shah. He has been named an accused in the Sanjeevani scam. May be he is trying to avoid arrest by SOG by taking Z security,” Gehlot said ridiculing the Z security need for Shekhawat.

Gehlot said that Shekhawat should come up on his own and meet victims of Sanjeevani scam.

“Shekhawat is union minister from this constituency. He should clarify his stand in the scam. He must satisfy people who have been duped. The society has land and other assets. He should try and give people back some money by selling the assets. At least they will get the base amount, let interest go in drain,” Gehlot said.
