Former Udaipur royal Arvind Singh Mewar passes away

Former royal family member of Arvind Singh Mewar  passed away. He was 80. He had been unwell for a long time. He was undergoing treatment at Shambhu residence of the City Palace.

Arvind Singh Mewar was the younger son of Maharana Bhagwat Singh Mewar and Sushila Kumari Mewar. His elder brother Mahendra Singh Mewar passed away on 10 November 2024 last year.

He married Vijayraj Kumari in 1972, who is the daughter of Fateh Singh, the son of Vijayarajaji, the Maharao of Kutch. They have three children: two girls, Bhargavi Kumari and Padmaja Kumari, and one son, Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar. 

Arvind Singh did his schooling from Mayo College, . After this, he graduated in Arts from Maharana Bhupal College in Udaipur. He also held a degree in hotel from St Albans Metropolitan College in the UK.

Arvind Singh also did a job in America for some time. He was the and managing director of HRH Group of Hotels. Apart from this, he was the president of Maharana Mewar Foundation Trust, Maharana Mewar Historical Prakash Trust, Rajmata Gulab Kunwar Charitable Trust.

Cremation to be held on Monday

The body of Arvind Singh Mewar will be kept at the City Palace for public on Monday from 7 am. After this, the last yatra will leave at 11 am. His last journey will start from Shambhu Palace and pass through Big Pole, Jagdish Chowk, Clock Tower, Bada Bazaar, Dehli Gate and reach Mahasatia.
