Former IAS Rohit Kumar Singh named member in ONDC advisory council

Rohit Kumar Singh, former IAS of Rajasthan cadre, has been nominated as member of ONDC advisory council aimed at promoting open network

Rohit Kumar Singh, former secretary of union ministry and member of National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission () has been included in the ONDC Advisory Council. 

Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) is a project initiated by Department for of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry. It aims at promoting open networks developed on open sourced methodology, using open specifications and open network protocols independent of any specific platform.

ONDC is expected to digitise the entire value chain, standardise operations, promote inclusion of suppliers, derive efficiencies in logistics and enhance value for consumers.

The government has constituted an advisory council to advise the Government on measures needed to design and accelerate adoption of ONDC. 

Other members of the advisory council include R.S. Sharma, former , National Health Authority, Rajesh Kumar Singh, secretary-designate, department of defence; Nandan M. Nilekani, non-executive Chairman of Infosys; Adil Zainulbhai, Chairman, Building Commission, Jaxay Shah, chairman, Quality Council of India, Anurag Jain, secretary, ministry of road transport and highways; Anil Agarwal, member, competition commission of India; Anjali Bansal, Founder & Chairperson, Avaana Capital; Arvind Gupta, Co-founder & Head, Digital India Foundation; Dilip Asbe, MD & CEO, NPCI; Suresh Sethi, MD & CEO, NSDL; Praveen Khandelwal, Secretary-General, CAIT and Kumar Rajagopalan, CEO, RAI.
