Former IAS and ex chairman of Coal India Pramod Agrawal, a 1991 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre has been named as the chairman of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) with effect from January 17, 2024. The regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has given its nod for the appointment.
Agrawal will succeed S S Mundra, who will superannuate on January 16, 2024.
Agrawal served as chairman of Coal India from February 2020 to June 2023 before he retired.
An alumnus of IIT Bombay, where he did B.Tech in Civil Engineering before completing M.Tech from IIT Dehi, Agrawal He has over three decades of administrative experience, having served in the field of public administration, urban development, public health engineering department; public works department and transport department.
