Former Bihar Chief Secretary Amir Subhani got married for the second time at the age of 61.
According to the report, a reception was held at a hotel in the capital Patna on Wednesday evening (February 26). Only select guests and close family members were invited to this.
It is being said that they got married this week. Amir Subhani's first wife Dr. Sadika Yasmin died about three years ago.
It is said that Dr. Sadika Yasmin died after falling from stairs. They have a son and a daughter.
The second marriage has been solemnised with consent of children. Amir Subhani retired from his service in February 2024.
Subhani is the first officer from minority community to have served as the chief secretary of Bihar. Only a month after that, Nitish government made Subhani the chairman of the Electricity Regulatory Commission.
Subhani is counted among the favourite officers of CM Nitish Kumar. For a long time, he has also taken responsibility for many key departments of the state government.
Who is Amir Subhani?
Amir Subhani belongs to Bahuara village in Siwan district of Bihar. He studied in a government school. He is a 1987 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre. Subhani was incidentally the topper of the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) in 1987.
In 1993, for the first time, Amir Subhani was posted as district magistrate of Bhojpur district. He was subsequently appointed as District Collector in Patna in 1994.
Away from any controversy, Subhani carries an image of an upright and honest officer with result oriented attitude.
