Forest department suspends Joginder Singh in Jhalana gala party case, more heads likely to roll

The department has regional forest officer and incharge ranger Joginder Singh in the case of gala party, which was organised in Jhalana reserve setting aside the regulations of reserve forest. The principal forest conservator Munesh Garg, on Sunday, issued orders to take strict action against the culprit.

The department will also take strict action against safari operators and all those who were involved in the in the party which was organised illegally reserved zone. The action will be taken under the provisions of Act 1972.

The case

According to sources, a luxury branded hotel Leela Palace organised a private party in Jhalana leopard reserve on last Thursday. The party was organised in violations of all norms of a reserve. Sources said that a temporary live kitchen was constructed in the reserve area and guests were served dishes in restricted zone.

Sources said that in preliminary enquiry, guests aboard in hotel vehicles came to Jhalana leopard park where a female guard stopped them from entering. Soon after the female guard had to let them in on recommendation of Joginder Singh.

The issue caught the eyes of senior officials after a video of the party was leaked. The forest officials immediately swung into action and constituted an enquiry into into the act.
