Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit to be held from 9-11 December is going down in the history of Rajasthan as the biggest investment summit. And if few more investment proposals pour in next couple of days no wonder it can become the biggest in the country.
So far the the Global Investors Summit organised last year in Uttar Pradesh garnered a whopping 40 lakh crore.
According to source, the investment commitment for Rising Rajasthan has reached close to Rs 30 lakh crore.
“If few million dollars more pour in before the summit, we may well cross the Uttar Pradesh figures,” said a senior IAS officer.
Months before the launch of Rising Rajasthan summit, a high level delegation of officers led by chief secretary Sudhansh Pant had gone to Lucknow and Ahmedabad to study the framework of successful global investment summits.
More than three times bigger than the previous edition
The last investment summit in Rajasthan – Invest Rajasthan – was held in 2022, which attracted investment commitment of Rs 10.46 lakh crore. This summit is likely to be bigger by more than three times bringing plethora of investment and job opportunities in the state. In the first two summit organised in 2008 and 2015, the investment commitments were Rs 1.65 lakh crore and Rs 3.36 lakh crore respectively.
Representation of 32 countries
As many as 32 countries have confirmed their participation in the summit with 17 becoming partner countries. This is so far the biggest overseas participation received. Countries like Germany, UK, Australia, Russia and Finland among others are sending their business delegates for participation while countries including South Korea, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia among 13 others have agreed to join hands as partner countries.
“High level government delegation had conducted roadshows in countries like Japan, Singapore, Italy, UAE, Qatar, UK, South Korea and Germany to woo investors. These efforts have fructified and more results will come after the success of summit,” the officer said.
PM along with union cabinet ministers to attend Rising Rajasthan
This is for the first time that Prime Minister will be inaugurating the summit. In earlier editions, Prime Minister had never come to attend the summit.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating this summit. This will endorse the efforts of state government and the union ministries will also help in realisation of investment commitments in Rajasthan. The power of ‘double engine' may propel the growth of Rajasthan which is ready to take off.
Nine new policies to galvanise growth
Rajasthan government launched nine new policies – Integrated Clean Energy, One district One product, MSME, Export Promotion , Integrated Cluster Development, Tourism, Mineral Policy, M-Sand Policy and Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality – (AVGC-XR) Policy.
The launch of all these new policies ahead of Rising Rajasthan has sent a strong message to investors.
“We are investment ready with investor friendly policies. We have a wide range of investment opportunities with enabling provisions. We have one for everyone,” the officer said who has played a key role in drafting the policies.
Close coordination and involvement of all departments and officials
Not only industries, which is the nodal department, all key departments like Medical, Education, Mining, Energy, Tourism and UDH chipped in to ensure investment commitments and success of the summit. As many as 26 IAS officers have been entrusted with reponsibility of being single point of contact (SPOC) for business delegates of 26 countries interested in Rajasthan.
Rajasthan chief secretary Sudhansh Pant led from the front and even went to Delhi, Mumbai and Singapore to hardsell Rajasthan.
“All these efforts and initiatives have made Rising Rajasthan bigger, shinier and better than previous editions. Takeaways from this summit will help the coming editions to be even more grand,” the official said.
