Fire broke out in the social media cell of Rajasthan government in secretariat building. The fire was doused without informing even the fire brigade.
The security staff noticed flames and fumes coming out of the fourth floor of the building. They doused the fire but not before it engulfed furniture, computer, software, hardware and several computer devices.
While the government officials are still wondering how fire could catch in a locked room, people are attributing this to short circuit.
“We are investigating. It's still not confirmed how the fire broke out,” said a security officer.
BJP spokesperson Laxmikant Bhardwaj said that the fire has been set to burn all the files and documents related corruption in hiring a marketing consultant ‘Design Boxed'.
“The election commission should conduct a thorough enquiry into this incident,” he said.
According to sources, fire brigade was not informed to extinguish fire.
“None of the offices of fire brigade received any complaint from secretariat about the mishap. They managed to douse the fire in their own. It's little strange,” said an official of fire brigade office.
