Anurag Singh Thakur, the Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs and Sports, accused the Congress party of deceiving the people of Himachal Pradesh with false promises and dreams during a meeting of the “District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee” in his parliamentary constituency of Hamirpur. Thakur engaged in detailed discussions with officials from relevant departments regarding the ongoing development projects in the district and provided necessary directives for their effective implementation. Following this, he participated in a review meeting of the district BJP regarding the “Developed India Resolution Journey” and interacted with journalists.
Addressing the media, Thakur stated, “The Congress party has come to power by telling lies. It has deceived the innocent people of Himachal by showing them false dreams and making false guarantees. Congress promised to give ₹1500 per month to women; they haven't received a single rupee. The commitment to buy cow dung at ₹2 per kilogram and milk at ₹100 per kilogram from farmers has not been fulfilled. The promise of providing 300 units of electricity and free water was also a lie, as confirmed during the meeting. Congress has failed on all its guarantees, proving that it has miserably failed.”
Continuing his critique, Thakur questioned the sudden reopening of closed crushers in some districts of Himachal Pradesh in recent months. He emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the reasons behind forcing people to buy sand and gravel at five times the regular price, leading to the shutdown of other businesses. Thakur suggested that if corruption is found, strict action should be taken without any political bias.
Speaking about the current state elections, Thakur expressed confidence that the people desire the development promised under the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He mentioned that the voters in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh have already cast their votes, while Rajasthan and Telangana will have their final elections on the 25th and 30th of this month, respectively. Thakur asserted that the election results on December 3rd will reveal the public's preference for the double engine of development led by the BJP.
Accusing Congress of divisive politics based on caste, religion, and community, Thakur remarked, “Congress has always divided people and ruled. Speaking so negatively about the democratically elected Prime Minister is highly objectionable. However, every time they tried to sling mud at Modi Ji, he emerged stronger and more resilient. Today's Prime Minister is a source of inspiration and motivation, boosting the morale of athletes who performed exceptionally well in the Olympics and other sports.”
During the meeting of the district BJP reviewing the “Developed India Resolution Journey,” Thakur, along with other party officials, discussed strategies to ensure the success of the campaign. The initiative, initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to reach every village and town, providing information about various government schemes for the welfare and upliftment of society.
In his concluding remarks, Thakur emphasized the significance of the “Developed India Resolution Journey,” stating that it would use LED displays to disseminate information about government schemes to every individual in villages. The journey intends to play a crucial role in reaching the remotest villages, ensuring that people are well-informed about both central and state government initiatives.
