Attempt of theft in the shop of Agrasen Gehlot – brother of minister is an eerie testimony to the dilapidating law and order situation in the state. Ashok Gehlot, who is also handling the home department, has been at the target of opposition BJP for rising crimes in Rajasthan.

In the Chief Minister's home town Jodhpur, his brother Agrasen Gehlot runs a shop – Anupam Krishi – which deals in farm related products. It is located at one of the busiest markets of the city – Paota Circle. Thieves, however, attempted to break into the shop. They molded the shutter of the shop but due to one additional door before entry ion to the shop, their attempt was foiled.

“Criminals are running with high morale in the state due to weak policing. So much so that they even tried to break in to the shop of the brother of chief minister Ashok Gehlot, who also heads the police department. This is a deplorable situation. We don't' know what will happen,” said Samket Singh, a resident of Jodhpur.
