The energy department of Rajasthan government is scouting for experienced engineers and senior accounts professionals to fill 15 top posts in state owned discoms, generation, transmission and renewable energy companies.
Professionals working as chief engineers, additional chief engineers, chief of accounts, chief controller of accounts in power sector companies can apply for the posts of chairman and managing director of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNM), managing directors of Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited and Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Limited.
No technocrat for Jaipur, Jodhpur discom?
The government interestingly has not advertised post for managing director for Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) and Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JdVVNL) Currently these two posts are being manned by IAS officers. Bhanu Prakash Yeturu, a 2003 batch IAS officer, is holding post of chairman and managing director JVVNL while OM Prakash Kasera, a 2012 batch IAS officer is holding post of managing director of JdVVNL. Only AVVNL has an engineer K P Verma as managing director, who has served as director technical in JVVNL in his previous assignment.
In the previous Congress government, the posts of managing directors of discoms were occupied by retired engineers. However, in past during Vasundhara Raje government IAS officers were posted as managing directors of discoms. The tenures of IAS officers – Bhaskar Sawant as managing director of JVVNL and Arti Dogra as managing director of JdVVNL – had been remarkable.
The government has advertised posts of director (technical, finance, project and operations) for these states owned power companies. The last date for application is August 2, 2024.
