At least four IAS officers of Rajasthan cadre didn't find favour with Elections Commission of India.
The state government has recommended cancellation of election duty of senior IAS officers including T Ravikanth, KK Pathak, Manju Rajpal and Punam. The state government had sent recommendation along with replacement. However, the Election Commission turned down the recommendation. Now these officers will have to discharge election duty in their allotted states.
T Ravikanth, who is principal secretary Urban Development & Housing (UDH), has been given West Bengal while Manju Rajpal, who is commissioner Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has been assigned Andhra Pradesh.
KK Pathak, who is serving as secretary finance has been assigned Andhra Pradesh while Punam, who is Sanskrit education secretary, has been asked to go to Karnataka.
The Election Commission has asked for 52 IAS officers of Rajasthan cadre for election duty in other states.
According to sources, IAS officers including Jitendra Soni, Khajan Singh and Sitaram Jat have been assigned to observe elections in Andhra Pradesh. Among other IAS Neha Giri (Gujarat), Kumar Pal Gautam (West Bengal), Anandhi (Maharashtra), Priyanka Goswami (Odisha), Bachanesh Agrawal (Gujarat), H P Sharma (Karnataka) and BL Goyal ( Uttar Pradesh) have also been assigned to work as observers. These officers have to stay in their allotted states for a minimum of 25 days.
