The Election Commission of India (ECI) will hold a press conference today at 12 noon to announce the schedule of the general election to legislative assemblies of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Mizoram.
With the announcement of elections, code of conduct will set in. The election commission led by the chief election commissioner Rajiv Kumar has review the poll preparation of all the poll bound states. He is satisfied with the preparation.
Among states going for polls, Rajasthan has 200 seats, Madhya Pradesh 230 seats, Chhattisgarh 90, Telangana 119 and Mizoram 40 seats.
With code of conduct set in the Gehlot government will not be able to make any announcement for any policy related decisions the government will have to seek concurrence of election commission.
