ED suspends its EO Meena after ACB trap, initiates action under PMLA

Hours after Rajasthan's Anti Corruption Bureau () arresting Naval Kishor Meena, an enforcement officer with ED on charges, ED placed Naval Kishor Meena under suspension and a PMLA case has been initiated against Naval Kishor Meena and his accomplice Babulal Meena, who is serving with as junior assistant with sub registrar office Mundawa.

Earlier in the day, the ACB had EO Naval Kishor Meena posted at Imphal (Manipur) along with his accomplice Rajasthan government employee in a bribery case.

According to additional director general of ACB Hemant Priyadarshi, Nawal Kishore Meena, an EO posted at Imphal along with his accomplice Babu Lal Meena, who is posted at sub registrar Mundawar, were caught taking bribe of Rs 15 lakh in a chit fund case.

He said that Meena demanded Rs 17 lakh against not attaching property and evade arrest in that case.

After receiving complaint, a team of ACB arrested the EO and his accomplice red handed.

This is the second instance in recent time when ED officials have been caught in a bribery case. In August, the CBI has registered an against ED assistant director Pawan Khatri in connection with an alleged bribery of Rs 5 crore by liquor businessman Amandeep Dhall to evade action in the excise policy scam case.
