The Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday conducted raids on multiple premises owned by Bihar cadre IAS officer Sanjeev Hans and former RJD MLA Gulab Yadav as part of a money laundering investigation.
Hans, a 1997-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer is currently serving as the principal secretary of the Bihar energy department. He is also chairman and managing director of Discom in Bihar. Former MLA Gulab was elected to the Bihar legislative assembly from Jhanjharpur in 2015.
Both Gulab Yadav and Sanjeev Hans have been together accused of rape
In 2021, a woman has accused IAS Sanjeev Hans and Yadav of rape. The woman alleged that Yadav repeatedly raped the woman on pretext of making her member of women commission. She alleged that Yadav used to take her to his flat at Rukanpura in Patna and would take her.
The woman said that Gulab Yadav had made a video of sexual assault and would blackmail her. She said that Yadav forced her to come to a hotel in Delhi where both Yadav and Sanjeev Hans raped her after lacing her drinks with sedatives. Both – Hans and Yadav would blackmail her and rape her multiple times.
Hans was on central deputation in Delhi where he was serving as private secretary to then food and consumer affairs minister Ram Vilas Paswan.
