EC team led by IAS Praveen Gupta ensures record voter turnout in Rajasthan

Rajasthan recorded 74.96% of voting surpassing last time's voting of 74.06%. The voting percentage of likely to improve further as the commision is still collating the numbers and final numbers will be announced later. The voting percentage has improved due to awareness among voters towards their right and duty.

The election commission spearheaded by chief electoral officer Praveen Gupta not only ensured free and fair but also wider participation of public in this festival of .

The election commission reached out to public and appealed them to franchise their voting rights.

“We are happy that people have come out in large number to vote this time. We have ensured proper arrangements at every booth to facilitate voting. People even from abroad have come just to vote and exercise their right,” said Praveen Gupta.

The election commission this time has provided elderly people above 80 years and persons with disabilities the facility of home voting under which a total of 62,927 voters in the state have applied for home voting facility as an option.

“A total of over 3 people have exercised their franchise through postal ballot,” Gupta said.
The election commission had made elaborate arrangements for conducting violence free and fair elections.

As many as 51,890 polling stations were set up out of which 12,500 were declared polling sensitive. They were enabled with webcasting and live feed was being monitored by the District, State and Booth level officers.

Over 1 lakh police personnel were deployed at booths to smoothen operations at all booths.
