It seems Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasara has lost his mind. In a bizarre incident the Congress leader came down heavily on a senior IPS officer, openly threatening him to make him walk on his knees.
Dotasara while addressing partymen in Kota warned Inspector General of Kota range Ravi Dutt Gaur of making his (Gaur's) miserable if he doesn't mend his ways.
“You take care of yourself. Don't exploit Congressmen at the behest of BJP people. Otherwise we will make your life hell,” he said
Dotasara further challenged Gaur to work in accordance with law.
“Even Om Birla and chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma will not be able to save you. There will be no harm to us. If we can't make you walk on your knees on excesses against our workers, I will not be called Govind Singh Dotasara,” he said.
The Congress state president was alleging misuse of state machinery in the victory of BJP candidate from Kota Om Birla.
This is not for the first time political leaders have spited venom against senior government officials including IAS and IPS officers. There have been several instances where followers of politicians have beaten up on duty government officials. But such incidents should be nailed immediately.
“Use of such harsh words against a senior IPS officer is unfortunate. No politician should raise tinge on integrity of IPS or any other officer without any evidence. This is unfortunate incident,” said Anil Jain, retired DIG.
Ravi Dutt Gaur is a 2003 batch IPS officer, promoted from state police services. He is considered as a silent worker and has a good hold on his force. He is due to retire in 2026.
