Hanuman Mal Dhaka, a 2014 batch IAS officer promoted from state service, was put under APO in April 2024 over corruption charges. The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) had booked him on complaints of seeking bribe of Rs 25 lakh for a land conversion case when Dhaka was collector of Dudu – the district which has now been dissolved by the state government. Since then he is under APO and in the recent transfer list also he is the only officer who remained without any posting.
The BuckStopper tried to contact Hanuman Mal Dhaka over phone but he was not available for comment. We will update the story whenever he wishes to comment on the subject.
Another IAS officer Rajendra Vijay, who is also promoted from state civil service, had been put under APO after ACB booked him for accumulated wealth disproportionate to his income in October 2024 when he was serving as divisional commissioner Kota. Vijay, however was lucky to find his name in the transfer list as he was appointed as commissioner departmental enquiry. Incidentally, an officer who is facing corruption charges would be deciding the enquiries of officers against whom there are complaints.
After the transfer and posting list was released, there was a question in everyone's mind as to why Vijay was given posting and Dhaka didn't get posting when both are under the scanner of ACB.
Hanuman Mal Dhaka is considered close to Congress regime. He was joint secretary in the chief minister office when Gehlot was CM. It was Gehlot who made him the first collector of Khairthal-Tijara in October 2023, days before the enactment of model code of conduct.
Though he had also served as special assistant to revenue minister Amraram during the tenure of Vasundhara Raje.
The other officer in the question Rajendra Vijay is said to have equal influence in both Congress and BJP government. According to sources, he is close to a senior BJP leader of neighbouring state.
