Dhananjai Khimsar likely to become adhoc president of RCA

Dhananjai Khimsar, son of health minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar is likely to be adhoc president of Rajasthan Cricket Association

, president of Nagaur district cricket association is likely to be named ad hoc president of Rajasthan Cricket Association – the post fell vacant after the recent resignation of Vaibhav Gehlot. 

The decision is likely to be taken in the upcoming general body meeting of present executive of RCA to be held in March 9, 2024. The executive body of the association has asked secretary of all district cricket associations to participate in the meeting. 

RCA secretary Bhawani Samota has written letter to secretaries of all district associations to attend the meeting and deliberate on various important issues.

Dhananjai Khimsar likely to be adhoc president

According to sources, the executive body is likely to bring forth the proposal to appoint Dhananjai Khimsar as adhoc president of RCA ahead of IPL matches to be held in Jaipur. 

has asked Rajasthan State Sports Council to organise IPL matches. We want active role of RCA in the organisation of IPL matches in Jaipur as before. So we need to have a president for organising this cricket event,” said a functionary of RCA

Dhananjai Khimsar is the son of minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar and it is believed that the Rajasthan government is in agreement with the proposal to put Dhananjai Khimsar at the helm. 

Meanwhile, sports minister has also activated the department machinery to plan and hold IPL matches in Jaipur. 

Cooperative department to look into dues and MoU 

The Rajasthan State Sports Council has sealed the office of RCA after the MoU ended last month. There is also payment dispute between RCA and Sports council, which is demanding Rs 8 crore from RCA against using stadium for holding IPL matches and other dues. 

The cooperative department is looking into the MoU which RCA had signed with sports council. It will also evaluate the dues.

“It is feared that cooperative department may form an empowered committee to get authority from government from holding IPL matches in the absence of RCA president. The cooperative department is holding the meeting on March 12 to discuss the issue of due and MoU,” said the functionary.
